HBFF 2013 will be screening an Official Selection of 73 films at the Ricardo Montalban Theater, located at 1615 N. Vine St, Hollywood CA 90028.

HBFF 2013’s INFOTAINMENT CONFERENCE takes place at the W Hotel Hollywood, 6250 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood CA 90028 and features a wealth of informational panels and workshops covering a wide variety of topics which include: film production, distribution and marketing, pitching, writing for television and film, in addition to specific programs designed to inform and educate actors.

Nona Minnifield Cheeks leads the Innovative Partnerships Office (IPO) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The IPO is responsible managing NASA Goddard’s technology transfer, partnership development; and SBIR/STTR programs. Nona leads a team of scientist, engineers, and MBA business/finance/technical managers in planning technology and new business outreach initiatives, intellectual property portfolio management, and technology partnership planning, negotiations, and management. Nona’s primary role of overseeing technology transfer is to ensure NASA Goddard’s intellectual property assets are protected and properly transferred for further development and commercial applications. The IPO is also responsible for formulating partnership development strategies to leverage NASA Goddard technologies, facilities, and expertise with industry, academia, and other government agencies. Additionally, Nona is responsible for leading the SBIR/STTR activity at NASA Goddard. This involves engaging NASA scientific and technical staff, small industry, and non-for-profit organizations in identifying and developing novel technology solutions for NASA and commercialization needs.

Nona holds a B.S. Degree from the University of Maryland and a MBA from Loyola College of Maryland. She completed courses at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business; Simmons Executive Education Program; and leadership and management programs at the Brookings Institution. She was an invited speaker at the Innovation in the 21st Century Conference in Great Britain. She presented and chaired sessions on Societal Benefits of Space for the International Astronautical Congress in South Africa, South Korea, India, Spain and Japan. Nona’s has also been responsible for leading the global technology transfer roundtable with global space based organizations.

Nona received NASA's Exceptional Achievement Award and NASA's Exceptional Service Medals. She was selected as a 2008 Women of Color All-Stars by the National Women of Color (WOC) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). She is also the recipient of the 2011 Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) Mid-Atlantic, and the 2011 FLC National “Outstanding Technology Transfer Professional Award.”
