WELCOME to the 2013 Hollywood Black Film Festival!

HBFF 2013 will be screening an Official Selection of 73 films at the Ricardo Montalban Theater, located at 1615 N. Vine St, Hollywood CA 90028.

HBFF 2013’s INFOTAINMENT CONFERENCE takes place at the W Hotel Hollywood, 6250 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood CA 90028 and features a wealth of informational panels and workshops covering a wide variety of topics which include: film production, distribution and marketing, pitching, writing for television and film, in addition to specific programs designed to inform and educate actors.

DAN HALPERIN produced feature films ROAD KINGS (Lionsgate // HBFF 2003) and SCARRED (Sony). He created & produced the Emmy-winning SHOWTIME series PICTURE WINDOWS, which was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. Dan wrote & directed the series pilot, as well as produced, wrote & directed for the PBS documentary series PHENOMENON: THE LOST ARCHIVES. Current projects include a comedy series for ABC Studios; the animation series, THE ADVENTURES OF CAVEMAN ROBOT, the web series, I’LL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!; and the docu-series -- SCOUTS AND RAIDERS: THE ORIGINAL NAVY SEALS; THE ROCKABILLY WORLD WITH BO HUFF; and BOMBSHELLS AND DOLLIES. Additionally, he’s producing a dramatic feature film BOTH ENDS OF THE GUN (https://vimeo.com/27134109). Dan attended the UCLA graduate film school, and is a member of Film Independent, The International Documentary Association, The Television Academy, and the Producers Guild of America -- where he serves on the Mentorship Committee, The Power of Diversity Workshop andPGAgreen.org, co-chairing the Green Outreach Committee. He is also on the board of ROCK THE ELEPHANT, a 2014 festival dedicated to saving Africa's elephant population from extinction.
