Actress, Vocalist, Comedienne and voice over talent Brély Evans is an Oakland Nativewho has become the epitome of what the industry dubs a triple threat. Her versatility puts her in a class of her own as she transcends your entertainment experience; whether she’s making you cry in a drama, buckle over with laughter in a comedy or challenging your intellectualwit through thought provoking discussion as a radio personality. With a host of film, theater and commercial work under her belt, Brély’s break out role was opposite Oscar Award nominee Queen Latifah, as “Sabrina”, in the romantic comedy Just Wright, staring Common, Paula Patton, Pam Grier and Phylicia Rashad.
Ms. Evans role of “Sabrina” was expanded as a result of her comedic timing and ability to bring unexpected life to her characters. This same power packed persona afforded her an opportunity to star in the remake of Sparkle playing Tune Ann, best friend to lead actress Jordin Sparks, produced by Debra Martin-Chase.
Her next projects are generating a lot of buzz, Being Mary Jane, is said to be BET’s next big series due out in January 2014, where she plays the role of Nichelle Nicholas, best friend to Gabrielle Union (Mary Jane) and Let the Church say Amen which is Ms. Regina King’s directorial debut.
Prior to starting her television and film career, this songbird was the sultry alto/tenor of R&B trio Emage, signed to Mercury/PolyGram Records by Black Sheep founder Dres and then A&R executive Lisa Cortes. Brély’s love for music, acting and live performance landed her the lead role in Torn Between the Two a gospel stage play where she plays “Shante Campbell” daughter to Shirley Murdock.
